Statement of Purpose: The Bible Institute is designed to train lay people who have a desire to know more of God’s Word and to be better prepared to serve the Lord in the local church.

Course of Study
General Information
The School of the Bible will meet one night a week for two, one-hour classes. The School of the Bible is to be completed in two years. Upon finishing all of the eight offered classes, the student will have completed ninety-six class hours and will receive a Biblical Studies certificate. If the student so desires, their course credit may be transferred to Southland Bible Institute in Ashland, Kentucky and be equivalent to 20 hours of course credit.
To receive credit for a class, the student must attend no less than nine of the twelve class periods offered for that specific class. A student who arrives to class later than fifteen minutes from the class’ scheduled time will be considered as absent.
Classes will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, 1118 Hutchins St. in Portsmouth, Ohio on Tuesdays at 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Requirements for Admission
1. Signed agreement with the Doctrinal Statement of this school.
2. Full tuition must be paid by the second week of each unit.
3. Any person may be denied admission or dismissed from classes for the following reasons:
a. They disagree with the doctrinal statement.
b. Attempt to lead others into disagreement with the doctrinal statement.
c. The administration feels there is cause for dismissal. The decision of the administration is final and binding.
4. Admission is and will be seen as a privilege. Upon dismissal, all tuition fees are understood to be surrendered to the School of the Bible.
Cost
The cost is $15.00 per unit or $45 per credit hour.
Dress
Dress for men and women can be casual but should remain modest and honoring to Christ.
